Etna Cosmesi Line is a young artisan company which was set up on the slopes of mt Etna at the end of 2001. We transform officinal plants into cosmetics, especially typically Sicilian plants (olive, prickly pears, citrus fruit, liquorice, etc), using various techniques to extract the valuable properties of the plant, respecting the environment. To this aim, we prefer to use local officinal plants, preferably biologically cultivated
The laboratory is structured in such a way as to be able to produce entire lines or single products using always top quality, frontline raw materials. Since we are a a small artisan cosmetics laboratory, we have a certain flexibility in the prosuction which allows us to tailor make products on demand (small and large lots), to study new preparations and formulae according to specific request of the client
Head of production is Mr Mario Andronico, a graduate in industrial chemistry from the university of catania who is a professional chemist enrolled in the guild of chemists in the province of Catania

The philosophy of Etna Cosmesi
We have tried to reappraise some typical Sicilian plants like olive, prickly pear, citrus fruit and liquorice, exploiting their properties in the field of cosmetics. We have tried especially to revive ancient popular traditions like the production of olive oil soap that our grandmothers produce today
We have decided to use especially local officinal plants or those that have been biologically cultivated, wherever possibile for the valorization and protection of nature and the environment and for sustainable rural development. With the company’s mode of operating, we aim to create harmony between our products and the natural environment they come from. For this reason, we do not use ‘parabeni’ like preservatives and as regards detergents, we use surface-active agents with a low level of skin irritation derived from glucose and coconut, excluding the preparation of Achyl Sulphate
Moreover, in our company we have never done any testing of products on animals
We have chosen as the base for many of our products ’Olive Oil and Prickly Pear for their moisturising, softening and sebum restoring properties. Infact, because of their many functions, we have taken the traditional recipes from our grandmothers, improving them with the formulations of modern science in order to create excellent quality products respecting nature

We produce pure olive oil soap, solid and liquid vegetable soap, face and body cream, bath foam, professional products for beauty centres, body oil, face masks, mud products, emulsion gel, other creams, toothpaste, suncreams etc.
